What was the problem?

Our client approached us as they have an advanced vehicle telematics solution that is in wide use within commercial automotive manufactures and wanted to tailor their solution and offering to the Defence market.

As a well-established supplier to automotive OEM’s worldwide, Tweddle were seeking a trusted consultancy to help develop their knowledge of the Defence market and how their solutions could provide answers to the maintenance and diagnostics of military land vehicles.

What solutions did you provide?

We provided market entry consultancy as well as product development advice. This included the assistance in developing a product demonstrator tailored to a specific tactical vehicle. Our engineers provided technical support to sales meetings with potential clients providing the translation between Defence technical concepts and the Automotive technology.

Our engineers provided blind data bus analysis to allow end client to exploit on vehicle J1939 data bus to pull diagnosis data automatically. This blind analysis allowed the integration of remote server hosted technical publications, as well as the hosting of remote diagnosis on a tablet computer that would be used by the driver or maintainer to diagnose faults on operations.

What proven results can you showcase?

Our work directly resulted in a ‘first right time’ design, build and integration of a remote telematics system to the tactical wheeled platform. This was a surprise to the end clients technical staff, due to successful integration being achieve with only one on site visit, but highlights our expert use of techniques such as software and hardware in the loop testing.
